The RTVSLO News Demo  (version 2.0)
     ==================================================================================

     This demo is used to test various features of the Ambulant SMIL Player.

  

     The zip file contains two presentation versions:
        1) a PC version: Danes2-Desktop.smil
        2) a hand-held mobile telephone version: Danes2-CE.smil

        The PC version (Danes2-Desktop.smil) contains two sub-components:
        1) a 'broadband' version, with HQ (for the Web) video content
        2) a 'Web' version, with stills and voice-over

        The different versions are identified as "Broadband/Web" at
        the lower-right portion of the presentation area.

	The mobile version (Danes2-CE.smil) contains a simplified version
        that still provides access on demand to all stories via pop-up
        navigation bars.

      The plug-in version is an adaptation of the Desktop presentation.

     b) suggested presentation path for Desktop Use:

        Open the Danes2-Desktop.smil document and then, before starting to play, 
        load one of the following device filter files from the same directory 
        (using View->Load Filter):

        1) Broadband-EN.xml: Broadband News (English titles only)
           ...........................................................................
           This version will select either English captions and will use video when
           available.
           (Note: to keep file sizessmalle, on 15 seconds of video is saved
            per story.)

        1) Broadband-EN.xml: Broadband News (Solvenian only)
           ...........................................................................
	   Similar to (1), but with Solvenian captions and titles

        3) Web-EN.xml.Web-Sl.xml: Conventional Mid-Band Web News
           ...........................................................................

           This version shows slides instead of videos. 
           Some stories have only a single general slide. The following
           stories contain slideshows:
             - Headlines
             - Local News
             - Weather

        4) High-Priority Inserts
           ...........................................................................
           *** Important: during any of the broadband/web configurations, you may
               activate pre-emptive content by selecting the three images at the
               bottom left of the display.

        5) Open Danes2-CE.smil: IP-Based Mobile Phone News
           ...........................................................................
           This profile views the presentation as it
           may appear on a wireless device.

     c) suggested presentation path for Mobile use:

        Load the Danes2-CE.smil document on to a Compaq iPaq along with the 
        AssetsCE folder. Make sure you install theAmbulant 1.0X WinCE player!
        and play the document.
